Christelle was diagnosed with sickle cell disease before her first birthday. Daily pain, hospital visits, and going to school while unwell shaped much of her childhood.
Years later, while in medical school, her symptoms worsened and led her to pursue a curative bone marrow transplant. In 2022, with her brother as a perfect donor match, Christelle received the transplant, giving her a second chance at life and freedom from daily pain.
