Carrying the sickle cell trait means you have one of the genes linked to the condition – but you don't have sickle cell disease yourself. You won't develop it, but you could pass it on to your children, if both you and your partner have the trait.

A simple, free blood test can tell you. Speak to your GP to find out more.
