Zydus Lifesciences Gets Green Light For Phase III Desidustat Trial In Sickle Cell Patients

Zydus Lifesciences is advancing its clinical pipeline with permission to start Phase III clinical trials of Desidustat, an oral therapeutic candidate for Sickle Cell Disease. The 203-day trial will enroll 164 patients in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). Desidustat already holds US FDA Orphan Drug Designation and represents a promising oral alternative to painful management protocols and expensive blood transfusions.
