Parents have been called upon to get their children screened for sickle cell to receive early treatment for those who have the disease. Likewise, premarital screening for the disease has been emphasized as a preventive measure. This was during today’s DFCU Sickle Cell walk that was flagged off at the DFCU Bank Head Office as part of their 62nd Anniversary celebrations. The event was aimed to raise awareness and support for sickle cell warriors in the community.
