The second annual Beats for Blood: Sickle Cell Awareness Block Party returns on June 27th.
“We all are connected. This isn’t a ‘black disease.’ I know that sickle cell is usually painted that way, but because it’s a blood disorder it has affected many races and creeds. We all need to know what our genes carry. We all need to know how to help our children navigate any type of serious chronic illness,” said Syreeta Wright, Founder of Welcome to the World Warrior Foundation Inc.
