A Windsor doctor, and long-time advocate for sickle cell disease patients, has been honoured with a medical award of excellence.

Dr. Andrea Cervi, who has a hematology practice at Windsor Regional Hospital’s cancer program, was recognized by the Sickle Cell Awareness Group of Ontario for her “outstanding commitment to supporting individuals and families impacted by sickle cell disease,” during a gala reception in Mississauga, Ont.
